Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

The High Commission continues to build strategic partnerships to enhance  access of Tanzania product into the West African markets. The Economic Diplomacy Affairs team met with Mr. Taiwo Seriki, Director of  Trade Promotion at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), to deliberate on steps for  mobilization of Nigerian businesses to participate at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair scheduled for 28th June to 13th July, 2022 and a reciprocal participation of Tanzania businesses at the Lagos International Trade Fair scheduled for 4th to 13th November, 2022.
