FIDSON Healthcare PLC Undertakes a Business Mission to the United Republic of Tanzania.

The High Commission coordinated and facilitated the trade mission of FIDSON Healthcare PLC to Tanzania from 21st - 25th April 2024. While in Tanzania, FIDSON held strategic meetings with TIC, TMDA, MSD, and other important actors in the pharmaceutical sector. FIDSON is planning to invest in Tanzania in the near future.

Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda to jointly host CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2027

The High Commission congratulates the leadership of the governments of the three East African Community sister countries, namely Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda, for winning the right to host the African Cup of Nations, AFCON 2027 football tournament. The “Pamoja Bid” has paid dividends, demonstrating that “unity is our strength.” We congratulate H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, for directing the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports to immediately take measures to construct two state-of-the-art stadiums in Arusha and Dodoma. We welcome the world to Tanzania: the land of Kilimanjaro, Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Zanzibar.

On 27th September 2023, the High Commissioner joined his colleagues in the SADC Ambassadors Group, consisting of Angola, Botswana, DR Congo, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe in their regular meeting at the Residence of the South African High Commissioner (South Africa House).

Dr. Benson Alfred Bana                             Mr. Osita Okechukwu, DG of Voice of Nigeria On 26 th September 2023, Tanzania High Commission and Voice of Nigeria marked the end of Level One Kiswahili Training programme for VON Members of Staff, with a graduation ceremony of 19 successful participants. The programme commenced on 9 th May 2023, it expected to equip VON broadcasters with basic Kiswahili knowledge in order to strengthening VON's Kiswahili Service.  Graduating participants making a Kiswahili presentation. On 25th September, 2023 at the Chancery, the High Commissioner, Amb. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana and staff, received Mr. Aretas James Lyimo, Commissioner General, Tanzania Drug Control and Enforcement Authority (DCEA) and his team. Mr. Lyimo and his team are in Abuja to participate in the 31st Meeting of the Heads of National Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (HONLAF) from 54 African countries. The meeting will be held in Abuja from 26th-29th September, 2023.

Laying the foundation stone for the Kilwa Masoko Fishing Port Project

On September 19, 2023, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, laid the foundation stone for the Kilwa Masoko Fishing Port Project and distributed 160 state-of-the-art boats to dedicated Tanzania fishermen and seaweed farmers in the region. The Kilwa Masoko Fishing Port project is set to drive forward Tanzania's blue economy agenda and the construction of the fishing port is expected to create over 30,000 jobs.

Through deliberate policies targeted at strengthening the competitiveness of the economy, improve the business and investment environment, and reduce the cost of regulatory compliance. The 19th Tanzania Economic Update launched in Dar es Salaam on 19th September, 2023, by the World Bank projects an economic growth rate of 5.1% this year compared to 4.6% recorded in 2022, despite worsening global economic conditions. H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana Receives Mr. Emmanuel Ansah-Amprofi, CEO and founder of Mate Africa Concept

On 18th September, 2023 at the Chancery, H. E. the High Commissioner had discussion with Mr. Emmanuel Ansah-Amprofi, CEO and founder of Mate Africa Concept. Their talk revolved around Tanzania products which require promotion in the markets of ECOWAS member countries using ICT innovations as well as organization of business missions.

TANZANIA IS SEIZING ITS PLACE AS ONE OF THE LEADING CONFERENCE CENTRES IN AFRICA!

  According to the Association of International Conference and Convention (AICC), Tanzania ranks 5th on the continent behind South Africa, Morocco, Rwanda and Egypt. The Government under the leadership of H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has set out strategies to increase Tanzania’s share in the African Conference Business. Thereby, moving its market shares from previous 5% to 10%, with a projection to make Tanzania a top hub for international events in the next 5 years. One of the strategies employed by Government is to expand international conference facilities to Dodoma, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. As well as rebranding Tanzania through the “Tanzania: Royal Tour” film which has also contributed immensely to opening up the country to the world.
