The High Commission Receives in Audience the New DG of Voice of Nigeria

On 16/04/2024, the High Commission was honoured to receive the delegation from Voice of Nigeria (VON), led by the new Director General, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace. VON is reestablishing its commitment for cooperation, to strengthen existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria. Currently, VON is working with the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) through an existing MoU facilitated by the Mission, and its staff are receiving Kiswahili training organized by the Mission to help strengthen the VON Kiswahili Service.

It is THE biggest and largest annual fashion event in the whole of East and Central Africa providing platform for fashion and accessory designers from Swahili speaking countries and beyond to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with clientele and the international fashion industry. This is all aimed at emphasizing to the region that fashion is an income generating creative industry, meanwhile promoting a  Made in Africa  concept. Ambassadors and High Commissioners from Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda share their insights on the potential this region holds and also discussed economic updates on the region.   Despite the disruption caused by Covid-19, East Africa remains the continent’s fastest-growing region.

The Tanzania 2021/2022 Budget: Government expenditure focuses on executing development projects

In the next budget, the Government has also allocated 449bn/- for promotion of 92,619 public employees. According to Dr.  Mwigulu Nchemba,  63 percent of the budget is meant for recurrent expenditure, while 13.26tri/- will bankroll development projects. "Development budget includes 10,4tri/- (about 78,2 percent) will be sourced from internal revenue sources and 2,9tri/- (21,8 percent) will be from external sources," he said.   Minister for Finance and Planning, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba while tabling the 2021/22 National Budget estimates in the Parliament in the capital city, Dodoma

Study Tour by Kano State (Nigeria) Health Insurance Agency to the Tanzania National Health Insurance Fund

  The Tanzania High Commission, Abuja - Nigeria has facilitated the visit of the first batch of staff of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA)  to undertake a study tour with the Tanzania National Health Insurance Fund, in Dodoma, Tanzania from 8th to 10th June, 2021.  This is another platform for knowledge exchange geared toward improving existing bilateral relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
