Tanzanian High Commissioner Hosts ACCI Deputy President to Advance Tanzania–Nigeria Trade and Investment Cooperation.

On 2 June 2026, The Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria H. E. Selestine Gervas Kakele welcomed Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at Tanzania House Abuja. During the Meeting H.E Kakele and Prof Adesugba focused on exploring opportunities to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, commerce, and private sector collaboration. With the upcoming ACCI trade mission to Tanzania in August 2026, discussions highlighted the importance of fostering business-to-business engagements, and creating new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity between the two countries Private Sectors.

Tanzania Building Agency (TBA) Study Tour to the Abuja Investment Company Limited

On 22nd of April, 2026 the TBA delegation also met with the Abuja Investment Company Limited, discussions focused on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models for infrastructure financing, culminating in a site visit to the Garki Ultra-Modern Market a practical example of successful PPP implementation. This visit provided valuable, hands-on insights aligned with TBA’s mandate, further strengthening knowledge exchange and cooperation between Tanzania and Nigeria.

Engagement Between TBA and Department of Facility Maintenance and Management, FCTA

On 22nd of April, 2026 the Tanzania delegation also engaged the Department of Facility Maintenance and Management of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Abuja, Nigeria, where the Overseeing Director and representatives from multiple divisions shared best practices in public asset maintenance, lifecycle management, and coordinated service delivery. This meeting offered actionable insights in line with TBA’s mandate, enhancing collaboration and knowledge exchange between Tanzania and Nigeria.

Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA) Visits Development Control Department

On 22nd of April, 2026 the Tanzania delegation visited the Department of Development Control, Federal Capital Territory Administration. The Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA) officials held productive discussions with the Director and senior officers on regulatory frameworks, compliance systems, and development control processes, followed by a guided tour of operational units. This engagement delivered practical insights aligned with TBA’s mandate, strengthening knowledge exchange and cooperation between Tanzania and Nigeria.

On 21st April, 2026, the Tanzania Buildings Agency (TBA) undertook an official study visit to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) in Abuja, Nigeria. The visit focused on knowledge exchange in urban planning, infrastructure development, land administration, and public asset management. This engagement highlights the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between Tanzania and Nigeria in advancing sustainable urban development and institutional capacity.

Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan receives an Honorary Doctorate Degree from A Nigerian University

Nasarawa State University, Keffi conferred an Honorary Doctorate Degree on H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania on 11 April 2026 during its 8th Convocation and Silver Jubilee. The Doctorate letters were received on her behalf by H. E. Selestine Kakele, High Commissioner of Tanzania to Nigeria. In her acceptance speech, President Suluhu-Hassan directed the exploration of academic partnerships between Tanzania and Nigeria, including student exchange programmes, collaborative research, and joint academic initiatives to strengthen bilateral cooperation in higher education. Her Excellency commended the University’s achievements and encouraged students to become agents of positive change, while the University reaffirmed its commitment to fostering collaboration and advancing academic excellence.
