The High Commissioner, Amb. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, was honoured to join Officers of CRDB Bank from Tanzania in Lagos at the Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Conference and Awards 2023. At the Africa Human Capital Summit that Tanzania hosted with the World Bank, Adoption of Dar Es Salaam Declaration called for increase investment in education and supportive sectors.

On 26th July, 2023 members of SADC Ambassadors Group in Abuja joined Diplomats from Portugal, Brazil, Equatorial Guinea, São Tomé and Principe to meet and greet the new Ambassador designate of Angola to Nigeria.

                                                  On 25 July, 2023 at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Abuja, the High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania joined his colleagues in SADC Ambassadors Group for a regular bi-monthly meeting. The meeting, among other agenda, received reports from member countries.

On 25 July, 2023, Tanzania High Commission joined all Tanzanians to commemorate the National Heroes’ Day. We join H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania to pay tribute to all well-meaning Tanzanians who, over time, sacrificed their lives for decolonization and defence of Tanzania’s sovereignty.

On 25th July 2023, Hon. Jumaa Hamidu Aweso, Minister of water received H. E. Mariam Chabi Talata, the Vice President of Benin at Julius Nyerere International Airport. H. E. Mariam Chabi is among other leaders who arrived in Tanzania to attend the Summit of Heads of State of African Countries regarding Human Capital, held on 25-26 July 2023 at Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre (JNICC), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.                                              

On 24th July 2023, H. E. Isatu A. Bandu, High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone with residence in Nairobi, Kenya, presented her letters of Credence to  H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

On 21 July 2023 at South Sudan Embassy,  Abuja-Nigeria,  the East African Ambassadors Group held a discussion with Mr. Joseph Ntakirutimana, Rt. Hon. Speaker of East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), Dr. S. H. Mlozi, MP-EALA and Mr. C. N. Ngeleja, Principal Clerk Assistant, EALA. The discussions, inter alia, focused on canvassing support for Candidature of Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson, Speaker of Tanzania Parliament to IPU presidency from the speakers of ECOWAS, the state of politics in EAC countries, etc.

On 21 July 2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner, and Brig. Gen. JK Kadawi, Defence Attaché, attended the Graduation Ceremony of the participants of Course 45 at Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji-Kaduna Nigeria. The graduating officers, included two senior officers from Tanzania Peoples Defence Forces (JWTZ). The colorful event was graced by H. E. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.

In May 2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Wamkele Keabtswe Mene, Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) at the Head Office of the Secretariat in Accra, Ghana.

On Wednesday, 19th July 2023, H. E. Kalilou Traore, Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire to Nigeria and ECOWAS payed a courtesy visit to Tanzania High Commissioner, H. E. Dr Benson Alfred Bana. The two diplomats had discussions on matters of mutual diplomatic interest and benefit to both  countries.

H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and visiting President of Hungary,  H. E. Katalin Novák ,   On 18th July, 2023, H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, received H. E. Katalin Novák, President of Hungary, in Dar es Salaam. Their discussion focused on bilateral relations, including areas of cooperation, opportunities for higher education, investment, trade and tourism. The High Commission commends H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for her exemplary efforts in strengthening Tanzania’s foreign relations.
