Tanzania and Cote d’Ivoire signed a Memorandum of Understanding for establishing cooperation in the field of sports. The signing ceremony was held in Dar es Salaam on 21st April 2024 during the visit to Tanzania by Hon. Adje Silas, Minister of Sport of Cote d’Ivoire. Hon. Silas and his delegation were in Tanzania for an official visit from 18-22 April 2024.

O n March 16, 2022, Tanzania celebrated two full years since the first case of COVID-19 in the country. The Government of Zanzibar is relaxing conditions for travelers entering the Zanzibar who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19. From 25th March, 2022 , such travelers will be exempted from providing a Negative RT - PCR Certificate before arrival in Zanzibar. WELCOME TO TANZANIA !!!

On 20/03/‘22, in Dakar, Senegal, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana received the Chairman of the Board of Global Water Partnership Southern Africa-Africa Coordination Unit (GWPSA-ACU, headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa), His Excellency. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania. H. E. Dr. Kikwete is in Dakar-Senegal to participate in the 9th “Global Water Partnership Forum”, the opening ceremony took place on 21st March, 2022 and was graced by H. E. Monsieur Macky Sall, President of the Republic of Senegal. It is a massive forum being attended by some Heads of State and Government, Heads of international organizations and about 6000 delegates.

Dr. Benson Alfred Bana and Mr. Macit Ko ç His Excellency, Dr. Benson Alfred Bana receives the Director of the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, Abuja, Mr Macit Koç on Wednesday, 16th March, 2022 at the Tanzania High Commission, Chancery. The Center seeks to establish fruitful relations to correlate recreational activities for cultural exchange and advancement. Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center, Abuja is one of Turkey's 64 active cultural centers spread across 56 countries. The Center was inaugurated in 2021 and is a part of the Turkish Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria.

The United Republic of Tanzania Relaxes COVID-19 Travel Protocols.

O n March 16, 2022, Tanzania celebrated two full years since the first case of COVID-19 in the country. The Minister of Health, Ummy Mwalimu while giving a brief on the state of the disease for the last two years, said, given the current state of COVID-19 infection in the country and the prevalence of the disease in the world, the Government is relaxing conditions for travelers entering the country who have completed a dose of COVID-19 vaccine starting from 17th March, 2022. Although, "COVID 19 is still in the country and the world, vaccination is the sure way of preventing and counteracting the disease. She therefore urged Citizens to vaccinate" She Further informed that travelers entering the country and who have been vaccinated against COVID 19 will no more require from March 17, 2022 a Negative RT - PCR Certificate before arrival in Tanzania (Mainland), WELCOME TO TANZANIA"

H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, on 8th March, 2022 gave a goodwill message at the 4th edition of the “Regional Workshop on Harnessing Indigenous Technologies, Inventions, Innovations Through Research and Development for Agricultural Development in the ECOWAS Sub-Region”. The Workshop was Organized by the Nigeria Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTAC). The DTAC is  a Nigerian Agency established in 2001 under the supervision of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs . This is in recognition of the fact that technical cooperation is a powerful instrument of regional economic integration in the 21st century. Dr. Glory Edet, Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Sufficiency, Akwa Ibom State, and Chief Guest of Honour, delivering the opening speech on behalf of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State.
