FIDSON Healthcare PLC Undertakes a Business Mission to the United Republic of Tanzania.

The High Commission coordinated and facilitated the trade mission of FIDSON Healthcare PLC to Tanzania from 21st - 25th April 2024. While in Tanzania, FIDSON held strategic meetings with TIC, TMDA, MSD, and other important actors in the pharmaceutical sector. FIDSON is planning to invest in Tanzania in the near future.

Dr. Benson Alfred Bana and Student Chaperon on their 2nd Visit to the Mission The High Commissioner received five (5) Tanzanian who are on scholarship at the Rochas Okorocha Foundation College of Africa (ROFOCA) on Wednesday, 29th September, 2021. The Students were accompanied by their colleagues (140) from across Africa. One of the Tanzanian, Beauty Jafaray is an "A" student who has taken a lead position in her class consecutively. Other Tanzania students here include: Mwaihola Ayubu Andrew, Bernada Emmanuel, Bernarda Anna Shitindi and Willy Suzany. Most recently Miss Beauty Jafaray due to her outstanding academic performance won a visit to South Sudan at the invitation of the First Lady, Her Excellency, Madam Mary Ayen Mayardit. The High Commissioner on 28th September, 2021 facilitated talks between the Tanzania  Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA), Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) with the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KACCIMA), via zoom.  Present at the meeting was Mr Paul Koyi, President of TCCIA, Ms Judith Karangi, DG of TCCIA, Mr Hamad Hamad, Executive Director of ZNCC, Alhaji Dalhatu Abubakar, President of KACCIMA, Alhaji Aliyu Mustapha Mohammed, DG of KACCIMA, among other officers of the three Chambers represented as well as officers of the Tanzania High Commission, Abuja. Tanzania High Commission joins all stakeholders in the tourism industry around the globe in the celebration of  World Tourism Day. The High Commissioner was invited as a Special Guest at a Conference organized by the Women in Business and Tourism of Nigeria (WIBAT) as par of their program to mark the international event. DG of Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation and DG of Voice of Nigeria, Signing the MoU The 21st September, 2021 saw a critical step forward in the effort of the High Commissioner to further strengthen existing bilateral relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, through the linking of the media in both countries. On this day, the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Voice of Nigeria (VON) for cooperation on content exchange, news exchange and staff exchange among other things.  The Director General of TBC, Dr Ayub Rioba Chacha and the Director General of VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu signed the MoU at an event that took place at the Headquarters of the Voice of Nigeria, Abuja in the presence of senior officials of the both organizations as well as the High Commissioner of Tanzania, H. Her Excellency, President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s documentary that is set to promote Tanzania’s tourist attraction sites to a global audience could not have come at a better time. In 2020, the year worse hit by COVID-19 pandemic the economy of Tanzania contracted by about 2.1 percent although fairing better than most, the leadership of  Her Excellency, Samia Suluhu Hassan decided that more needed to be done to revive various sectors.   Mainland Tanzania, wildlife with city backdrop. The United Republic of Tanzania is scheduled to host the first East African Regional Tourism Expo (EARTE) 2021, in October, 2021. The tourism expo will be held in the northern tourist circuit of Arusha from October 9, to October 16, according to the statement from EAC headquarters. The theme for this inaugural EARTE 2021 is ‘Promoting Resilient Tourism for Inclusive Socio-Economic Development’. In July, EAC ministers for wildlife and tourism approved the EAC Tourism Marketing Strategy for the 2021-2025 period. The strategy focuses on the establishment of the tourism exposition as a forum to bringing together state and non-state tourism actors to showcase the rich and diverse tourism attractions and investment opportunities in the region. East African Regional Tourism Expo (EARTE) 2021 is the outcome of that meeting and the first of its kind to be held in the region.
