The High Commission Receives in Audience the New DG of Voice of Nigeria

On 16/04/2024, the High Commission was honoured to receive the delegation from Voice of Nigeria (VON), led by the new Director General, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace. VON is reestablishing its commitment for cooperation, to strengthen existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria. Currently, VON is working with the Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC) through an existing MoU facilitated by the Mission, and its staff are receiving Kiswahili training organized by the Mission to help strengthen the VON Kiswahili Service.

The main reasons being, vast investment opportunities, peace and security, geographical location and being a member to East African Community as well as Southern African Development Community. More importantly, Tanzania deposited Instrument of Ratification of African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), marking readiness to implement the Agreement  hanks Madam Helen Okon for this coverage.

H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana Pushes Forward Kiswahili Language Advancement

  Cultural Diplomacy and pushing the Kiswahili language further into limelight in West Africa has been one of the key agenda's of His Excellency, Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, he finds new ways to expose West African citizens to the culture. On 25th January, 2021 he met with the Founder and organizer of the Kaduna International Film Festival (KIFF)to facilitate the linking of KIFF with counterpart organizations in the United Republic of Tanzania for cooperation and youth advancement through the exploring of the abundant opportunities and talents within the creative industries of both countries.  Mr Israel Audu, Founder of KIFF was accompanied by Ms Zainab Ahmed, Festival Director and Administrator, as well as Mr Mohammed Shanguli, Aide and Support of the Founder. The previous edition of the KIFF has presented film screening from 9 countries across Africa and Europe. H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana Finding New Opportunity for Expanding the Existing Bilateral Relationship Between Tanzania and Nigeria, in Technology Development

His Excellency, Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, has today (20th January, 2022) created an opportunity for expanding the existing bilateral relationship between Tanzania and Nigeria with a focus on collaborations to enhance technology development. The journey began on the 23rd June, 2021 with the visit of the High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Nigeria, to the DG of National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) of Nigeria, to explore the possibility of reinvigorating the previously existing interest for collaboration between Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology (COSTECH) and NOTAP. In June, 2012, staff of the Directorate of Centre for Development and Technology Transfer, led by Dr Dugushilu Mafuwa visited NOTAP from COSTECH, pursuing the mandate of COSTECH to create linkages and network with counterpart institutions in Africa. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria met with Sir Ide John Udeagbala, President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) to facilitate the forging of trade relations between Tanzania and Nigeria businesses through the cooperation of the national Chambers, NACCIMA and Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (TCCIA) as well as Zanzibar National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC). The President assures His Excellency that NACCIMA is ready to contribute to the strengthening of bilateral relations between the sister countries, by deliberate, strategic collaborations based on trade, and driven by the Chambers of commerce within the framework of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).   Tanzania cuisine narrated about the food culture of Tanzania. This was during cultural, trade and tourism exhibition organized by the Nigeria National Defence college (NDC) on 22nd January 2022, in Abuja. Among other more than 10 Embassies, Tanzania High Commission in Abuja used this opportunity to show case Tanzanian food, products and tourism opportunities. On the other hand, the participant in the NDC 2021/2022 program from the United Republic of Tanzania and the High Commissioner of the United republic of Tanzania in Nigeria, got an opportunity to give country briefing regarding Tanzania in general and in specific available investment opportunities as well as touristic attraction. The High Commissioner, His Excellency Dr. Benson Alfred Bana has introduced and facilitated the visit of a Nigeria company, Kaymin Dynamics Investment Limited to the Tanzania Investment Centre on 10th January, 2022. Kaymin Dynamics Investment Limited, is interested in exporting its capital to Tanzania and investing in the Hospitality sector and the company has sent a Management staff on a fact finding mission to the Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC). The visit of Kaymin Dynamic Investment Limited is one of the outcomes of the Tanzania-Nigeria Tourism, Investment and Trade Forum (TN-TIT), which was organized by His Excellency in Lagos and Abuja on 4th and 6th May, 2021.  The Forums were targeted at emancipating Nigerians and West Africans in general on the numerous investment and business opportunities available in Tanzania.
