On 5th July 2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Ghana (with residence in Abuja, Nigeria) was the Chief Guest of Honour at the 1st Kiswahili International Conference held at the University of Ghana, Legon. The three-day Conference was organized by University of Ghana, Legon in collaboration with University of Dar es Salaam and Open University of Tanzania as well as Moi University of Kenya. The theme of the conference was “Kiswahili and Pan-Africanism”. This Historical event drew participants from Austria, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, e.t.c. The conference was intended to celebrate the 2nd Kiswahili Day Anniversary.
