The High Commission welcomes Gen. Jacob John Mkunda, Tanzania’s Chief of Defense Forces

The High Commission successfully coordinated the visit to Abuja Nigeria by Gen. Jacob John Mkunda, Tanzania’s Chief of Defense Forces, to attend the First African Chiefs of Defence Staff Meeting held from 25 to 27 August 2025 in Abuja. The meeting was under the theme 'Combating Contemporary Threats to Regional Peace and Security in Africa' and attended by 37 Defence Chiefs from African countries.

The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) is the federal agency responsible for promoting and facilitating local and international investments into the 34 licensed Free Export Processing Zones (EPZ) in Nigeria. It administers EPZs, ensuring the establishment of customs, police, immigration, and all necessary legal posts. It works to streamline processes for businesses, and serves as a dispute-resolution mechanism in the case of conflict. It prides itself in is core function which is to establish, license, regulate and operate highly efficient Free Zones by providing a highly competitive incentive scheme, excellent support facilities and service for the purpose of creating an enabling environment for export manufacturing and other commercial activities.

The NEPZA working visit is another outcome of the Tanzania-Nigeria Tourism, Investment and Trade (TN-TIT) Forum which held on the 4th and 6th May, 2021 in Abuja and Lagos respectively. The Facilitator of the Forum, Diplomatic Vista was appointed by NEPZA to put together the working/learning visit of for senior officials of NEPZA led by Mr. Bitrus D. Dawuk, Director, Finance and Accounts.
