Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

NEW MINISTER OF DEFENCE: TANZANIA BREAKING NEW RECORDS IN GENDER MAINSTREAMING

                        Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax, Minister of Defense, United Republic of Tanzania.

 

Her Excellency, Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania is breaking new records in the history of the country. She on Sunday September 12, made a mini-cabinet reshuffle appointing a new Attorney General and brought into office Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax who is now the first female Minister of Defense and National Service, two days after she was sworn in as Member of Parliament. Dr Stergomena replaces Mr Elias Kwandikwa, who pass away on 2nd August, 2021.

Dr Stergomena Lawrence Tax was a former Executive Secretary of Southern African Development Community (SADC), becomes first female ever to serve as Tanzania Minister of Defence, a very sensitive position.
