Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana presents a plaque to Mr Segun Agbaje, Group CEO of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, in honour of the company for investing in the United Republic of Tanzania by establishing Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Tanzania and for the companies commitment to continue to do business in the East African region, particularly in Tanzania.

Currently, GTB Tanzania employs about 53 Staff, and only 2 of these are Nigerians others are Tanzanian's. The bank has constructed its own premises in Dar es Salaam and looks forward to expanding its operations in the near future. Apart from Tanzania the bank has presence in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
