Tanzanian High Commissioner Hosts ACCI Deputy President to Advance Tanzania–Nigeria Trade and Investment Cooperation.

On 2 June 2026, The Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria H. E. Selestine Gervas Kakele welcomed Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at Tanzania House Abuja. During the Meeting H.E Kakele and Prof Adesugba focused on exploring opportunities to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, commerce, and private sector collaboration. With the upcoming ACCI trade mission to Tanzania in August 2026, discussions highlighted the importance of fostering business-to-business engagements, and creating new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity between the two countries Private Sectors.

His Excellency Dr Benson Alfred Bana delivers the First Kiswahili Club in Nigeria as he propels forward the bilateral; relations between the United Republic of Tanzania and the Federal Republic of Nigeria via cultural diplomacy strategy, through Kiswahili language. The High Commission in collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) is working to remove trade barriers between Nigeria and countries in East, Southern and Central Africa were Kiswahili is a medium of communication. Current Statistics reveals that about 500million people can speak at least basic Kiswahili and Kiswahili is a medium of communication/official language in some East Africa countries. 

Furthermore, it has become a subject of study is schools across countries in south and Central Africa. In line with AfCFTA protocols, the need to remove trade barriers cannot be over emphasized. International trade has often been limited by language restrictions, resolving this challenge for Trade Officers in NEPC is one of the key objective that KISWAHILI Club 1 seeks to achieve. The program is suppose to run for about 12-16 weeks and its expected to enable participants communicate with their Kiswahili speaking counterparts in other African countries to aid trade and negotiations.
