Tanzanian High Commissioner Hosts ACCI Deputy President to Advance Tanzania–Nigeria Trade and Investment Cooperation.

On 2 June 2026, The Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria H. E. Selestine Gervas Kakele welcomed Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at Tanzania House Abuja. During the Meeting H.E Kakele and Prof Adesugba focused on exploring opportunities to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, commerce, and private sector collaboration. With the upcoming ACCI trade mission to Tanzania in August 2026, discussions highlighted the importance of fostering business-to-business engagements, and creating new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity between the two countries Private Sectors.

H. E. DR. BENSON ALFRED BANA MEETS DR. KEN KWAKU, FORMER HONORARY CONSUL OF GHANA TO TANZANIA.


Dr. Ken Kwaku, the former Honorary Consul of Ghana to Tanzania, shows commitment and support to University of Ghana to honour Rebecca Memorial award to a best student in Kiswahili language academic affairs. This was learned by the delegation of H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Nigeria when he paid a courtesy call on Dr. Kwaku on 8th February 2022, during his exploratory visit for the purpose of conducting Trade, Investment and Tourism Forum in Ghana in the first half of 2022.

Dr. Kwaku decided to support the award in commemoration of his late mother, Rebecca and the close relationship he has with Tanzania since his youth, when he was working in United Republic of Tanzania. Also, Dr Kwaku shares a close bond of friendship with the 3rd president of the United Republic of Tanzania, H. E. President Benjamin William Mkapa (RIP).  The award is dedicated to the best students for every academic year in Kiswahili Language Studies at the University of Ghana Legon.

In his remarks, H. E. Dr. Bana appreciated Dr Kwaku for this initiative which is commendable and promised the support of the High Commission in line with the directives of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in promotion of Kiswahili Language.
