Tanzanian High Commissioner Hosts ACCI Deputy President to Advance Tanzania–Nigeria Trade and Investment Cooperation.

On 2 June 2026, The Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria H. E. Selestine Gervas Kakele welcomed Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at Tanzania House Abuja. During the Meeting H.E Kakele and Prof Adesugba focused on exploring opportunities to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, commerce, and private sector collaboration. With the upcoming ACCI trade mission to Tanzania in August 2026, discussions highlighted the importance of fostering business-to-business engagements, and creating new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity between the two countries Private Sectors.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration) of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Rivers State, Nigeria, Prof. Clifford Obiyo Ofurum  accompanied by Dr Jones Gilbert Ayuwo, a lecturer in the Department of linguistics and Communications of the University of Port Harcourt  paid a courtesy call on H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to carry forward the conversation centred on reintroducing Kiswahili Language study into the curricular of the University of Port Harcourt, through a collaboration with the University of Dar es Salaam(UDSM), Institute of Kiswahili Studies.

Furthermore, to invite His Excellency as a Convocation Lecturer to the 33rd Combine Convocation of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), with the theme “Internationalization of Higher Education in Africa”

Air Tanzania is Granted Foreign Carrier Operating Permit

  Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, a Government agency has granted a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit to Air Tanzania to commerce scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Accra. The commencement of direct flights between these two cities will ease connectivity and promote trade, investment and tourism activities.  This step marks another milestone of enhancing relations and cooperation between Tanzania and West Africa region.
