Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) and University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) meets to establish a platform for collaboration and to invigorate Kiswahili language learning in UNIPORT

As part of the efforts of the High Commissioner, H. E. Benson Alfred Bana to promote Kiswahili language in our areas of accreditation, His Excellency has facilitated the linking of the University of Port Harcourt, (UNIPORT),  Rivers State, Nigeria and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Following previous visits of His Excellency to UNIPORT and exchange of correspondence between the two universities, the leadership of  UNIPORT on 3rd April, 2022 embarked on a working visit to the University of Dar es Salaam,  inter alia, to discuss with their counterparts the possibility of collaboration and invigoration of Kiswahili language learning at UNIPORT. Recently, the Summit of AU Heads of State and Government agreed to adopt  Kiswahili language as a working language of AU and UNESCO and declared 7th of July each year Kiswahili Day world over. The Vice Chancellor (VC) and Deputy Vice Chancellor (DVC)  of UNIPORT are scheduled to conclude their week- long tour on 9th April, 2022.
