Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

Air Tanzania is set to enter the West African skies, beginning with direct flight to Ghana and Nigeria. Engr. Ladislaus Matindi, Managing Director and CEO of Air Tanzania Corporation disclosed.

This was echoed by H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner Designate of the United Republic of Tanzania to Ghana with Residence in Nigeria, at the Tanzania-Ghana Tourism, Investment and Trade Forum (TG-TITF), held on the 28th May 2022 in Accra. He stated that the new route would ease movement of people, goods, services and capital between Ghana and Tanzania and the decision goes well with the spirit of the AfCFTA.
