Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

On 21st September, 2022 the High Commissioner received a delegation from the Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (UCCIMA). Discussions were focused on linking UCCIMA with TCCIA and ZNCC. Furthermore, B2B linkages that can facilitate the introduction of Tanzania products to the Eastern Nigeria Market. As well as the possibility of participating in International trade fairs in Tanzania.

Abia State is known to have the largest concentration of SMEs in Nigeria and Umuahia is the capital city of Abia State.
