Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

The President of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Asiwaju, Dr. Michael Olawale-Cole, CON and the Director General, Dr. Chinyere Almona, visited His Excellency, Dr. Benson Alfred Bana to solicit the support of the Mission, as the LCCI through its activities and agenda, positions itself to be in the fore front of driving the AfCFTA agreement that has been ratified by Nigeria and Tanzania in March and September, 2021, respectively.

Among other things, the LCCI informed of its plan to construct a World Class International Conference Centre in partnership with the Lagos State Government, while also seeking for partners who may be interested from Tanzania. Furthermore, the LCCI invited Tanzania companies and the High Commission to participate in the forth coming Lagos International Trade Fair, scheduled for 4th to 13th November, 2022, as well as requested the High Commission to facilitate a feedback on the possible participation of the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania in the forthcoming Presidential Policy Dialogue organized by the LCCI and annually Chaired by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H. E. Professor Yemi Osinbajo.
