The High Commission Participates in the National Defence College Course 32 International Culture Fest.

On 4th May, 2024, the Participants of National Defence College Course 32 celebrated the International Culture Fest. Participants were drawn from 19 countries including Tanzania, Ghana, South Africa, Botswana, India, Brazil, Cote d'Ivoire, Benin, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Zambia, Zimbabwe among others. The Tanzania High Commission was on ground to showcase Tanzania products, food and artifacts.

H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana Explores Opportunities for Increasing Technical Aid from Nigeria to Tanzania Through The Directorate of Technical Aids Corps (DTAC)



On 26th October, 2022, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana met with representatives of the Directorate of Technical Aids Corps (DTAC). The meeting was aimed to appreciate DTAC’s activities in Zanzibar, explore the possibility of expanding its collaboration with Zanzibar and extending its support to Mainland Tanzania. DTAC currently has 14 corps members volunteering as science teachers in secondary schools in Zanzibar. Pre-COVID-19 it had 41 Volunteers in Zanzibar.

DTAC is a parastatal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mandated to execute the Technical Aids Corps Scheme which is an expression of the Foreign Policy of Federal Republic of Nigeria. According to Nigeria’s First Prime Minister (1960-1966), Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, “Africa is the centerpiece of Nigeria’s foreign policy.” DTAC focuses on Nigeria's Foreign Aid Technical Assistance Policy and executes its mandate in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific states.
