The High Commission successfully coordinated the visit to Abuja Nigeria by Gen. Jacob John Mkunda, Tanzania’s Chief of Defense Forces, to attend the First African Chiefs of Defence Staff Meeting held from 25 to 27 August 2025 in Abuja. The meeting was under the theme 'Combating Contemporary Threats to Regional Peace and Security in Africa' and attended by 37 Defence Chiefs from African countries.

Tanzania The Royal Tour film premieres in Nigeria at the 18th Akwaaba African Travel Market to a viewership of key stakeholders and professionals in the tourism and hospitality industry in Nigeria and indeed West Africa. The documentary is starring Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and Emmy Award-winning journalist Peter Greenberg. The President is the ultimate tour guide, showcasing hidden gems of her country from Kilimanjaro National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Serengeti and Mkomazi nature reserves, Manyara and Arusha — the gems of the northern tourist circuit, Indian Ocean beaches, and the cultural and historical heritage found in Bagamoyo and Zanzibar.

Tanzania The Royal Tour will be showcased on the 31st October, 2022, at Eko Hotels and Convention Centre, Lagos -Nigeria. In attendance will be His Royal Highness Oba Adeyemi Obalenlege, as the Royal Guest of Honour, Dr. Memunatu Pratt, Minister of Tourism of Sierra Leone as Special Guest. Renowned brands like Wakanow as partner and participants from no less than 25 African countries.

 Akwaaba African Travel Market is an annual international tourism, travel and hospitality event organized by Mr Ikechi Uko. It is one of the Top 5 Travel Events in Africa and the leading Tourism Marketing Platform in West Africa. This year, the event will be highlighted by the 2nd Africa Travel 100 Women Awards, the Youth in Tourism Conference, and the Medical Tourism session.
