As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

The High Commission is Building Regional Collaboration Through the Private Sector

Facilitating private sector collaborations is critical to the mandate of the High Commission to increase tourism traffic from Nigeria to Tanzania. On the sidelines of the 18th Akwaaba African Travel Market, held on 31st  October to 1st November, 2022, the Tanzania High Commission, Abuja organized a B2B between Tanzania Tour Operators and Nigeria Tour Operators (on the platform of NATOP). We foresee the budding of new partnership to advance and promote Tanzania tourist destinations.
