The High Commission successfully coordinated the visit to Abuja Nigeria by Gen. Jacob John Mkunda, Tanzania’s Chief of Defense Forces, to attend the First African Chiefs of Defence Staff Meeting held from 25 to 27 August 2025 in Abuja. The meeting was under the theme 'Combating Contemporary Threats to Regional Peace and Security in Africa' and attended by 37 Defence Chiefs from African countries.

H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana and Other SADC Ambassadors in a discussion with H .E. Thabo Mbeki, Former President of South Africa


On 3/3/2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana joined his SADC colleagues in a discussion with H .E. Thabo Mbeki, Former President of South Africa. The discussion largely focused on the state of politics and diplomacy in African polities. H. E Mbeki led the Commonwealth Election Observer Mission which was in Nigeria to observe the 2023 general election.
