Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

On 23 May 2023, the High Commissioner received H. E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania in Accra, Ghana. H. E. Dr. Kikwete is in Accra to participate in the African Leadership Forum (ALF) to which his Patron. The Forum is to be attended by former African Presidents and will be held from 25-26 May, 2023.

Among other engagements, on 24 May, 2023, H. E. Dr. Kikwete payed a courtesy call on H. E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General, African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat.
