On 9th May 2024, the High Commission had fruitful discussions with Directors of Eco Green Investment (EGI) Company regarding available investment opportunities in Tanzania. EGI is eying to invest in Tanzania in Agro-Processing , Blue Economy, Tourism, Science and Technology in the near future.

On 11th May, 2023, the government of the United Republic of Tanzania announced its Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Tulia Ackson as the candidate for the Presidency of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), stating that Dr.Tulia Ackson possess unmatched qualifications, experience, and commitment to democracy that are relevant for the job.
The IPU is an international organization of national parliaments, empowering parliaments and parliamentarians to promote peace, democracy and sustainable development. The President of IPU is the Head of the Executive Committee which is the decision-making organ of the Union. The Union is made up of about 179 parliamentarians out of the 193 countries with legislative bodies in the world.
The IPU is currently headed by a Portuguese national, Mr Duarte Pacheco, and expects to select its new leader during the 147th assembly to be held from October 23rd to October 27th, 2023 in Luanda, Angola.
