Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

Tanzania Swiftly and Successfully Evacuates its Nationals from War-torn Republic of Sudan


On 27th April, 2023, the United Republic of Tanzania swiftly and successfully evacuated its nationals from war-torn Republic of Sudan, the evacuated Tanzanians arrived in Dar es Salaam aboard the national flag carrier,  Air Tanzania Company Limited.  

Since mid April, 2023, Sudan has been besieged by bitter confrontation between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, Sudan's paramilitary.

  Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, a Government agency has granted a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit to Air Tanzania to commerce scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Accra. The commencement of direct flights between these two cities will ease connectivity and promote trade, investment and tourism activities.  This step marks another milestone of enhancing relations and cooperation between Tanzania and West Africa region.
