Tanzanian High Commissioner Hosts ACCI Deputy President to Advance Tanzania–Nigeria Trade and Investment Cooperation.

On 2 June 2026, The Tanzania High Commissioner to Nigeria H. E. Selestine Gervas Kakele welcomed Prof. Adesoji Adesugba, the Deputy President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) at Tanzania House Abuja. During the Meeting H.E Kakele and Prof Adesugba focused on exploring opportunities to further strengthen the existing bilateral relations between Tanzania and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, commerce, and private sector collaboration. With the upcoming ACCI trade mission to Tanzania in August 2026, discussions highlighted the importance of fostering business-to-business engagements, and creating new avenues for mutual growth and prosperity between the two countries Private Sectors.

Tanzania Wins Right to Host African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) Secretariat Headquarters

On Thursday, 4th May, 2023, Tanzania was unanimously elected to host the African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) Secretariat Headquarters. This voting exercise was conducted by Ministers responsible for sports in AUSC Region 4 member states. The well-attended event held in the northern part of Tanzania was presided over by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Peter Ogwang who doubles as Ugandan Sports Minister.


Earlier on, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan asked Ministers present at the African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) meeting to grant Tanzania an opportunity to host the organisation’s Secretariat Headquarters. In her request, President Samia said that the East African Member state was a suitable home for various international organizations and institutions.
