Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

The Inauguration of Kiswahili Teaching Program for Members of Staff of Voice of Nigeria (VON)

On the 9th May 2023, Tanzania High Commission in collaboration with Voice of Nigeria inaugurated Kiswahili teaching program for members of staff of Voice of Nigeria (VON). The training is aimed at equipping participants with basic Kiswahili knowledge, in line with the existing MOU between Voice of Nigeria and Tanzania Broadcasting Cooperation.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by H. E.  Dr. Benson Alfred Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania to Nigeria and Mr. Osita Okechukwu, Director General - VON.

Air Tanzania is Granted Foreign Carrier Operating Permit

  Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, a Government agency has granted a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit to Air Tanzania to commerce scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Accra. The commencement of direct flights between these two cities will ease connectivity and promote trade, investment and tourism activities.  This step marks another milestone of enhancing relations and cooperation between Tanzania and West Africa region.
