Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

The Joint Commissioning of the Kikagati Hydroelectric Power Station, also known as the Kikagati Power Station

H. E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and H. E.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni  

Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania and her Ugandan counterpart, His Excellency Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday 25th May, 2023 commissioned the Kikagati Hydroelectric Power Project in Isingiro District, South western Uganda. The power station is located across the Kagera River and will produce 16 Megawatts. The project is expected to deliver to Kyerwa and Karagwe districts in Kagera region, access to reliable and affordable electricity.
