Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

Landslide Victory For Rt. Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson as she Win's the Seat of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)


The High Commission profoundly congratulates Rt. Hon. Dr. Tulia Ackson Mwansasu, Speaker of the Tanzania Parliament, on being elected as the 31st President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).  Her victory is an honour for Tanzania and Africa and democracy.

She garnered 172 out of all 303 votes cast equivalent to  57%, defeating her three competitors from Malawi, Senegal and Somalia. The election was held today, 27 October 2023 during the 147th IPU Assembly in Luada, Angola.


The votes for IPU President was as follow: 

Tanzania - 172

Malawi - 61 

Senegal - 59

Somalia - 11
