Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

On 15th July 2024, the High Commission was delighted to receive H.E. Dr. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, Former President of the United Republic of Tanzania in Accra - Ghana. 

H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete is in Accra to participate at the Presidential Level Briefing on Foundational  Learning in Africa scheduled on 16th July 2024 during the 2024 Mid Year Coordination Meeting of the African  Union Year of Education. H.E. Jakaya Kikwete is also the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Global Partnership for Education.

  Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, a Government agency has granted a Foreign Carrier Operating Permit to Air Tanzania to commerce scheduled flights between Dar es Salaam and Accra. The commencement of direct flights between these two cities will ease connectivity and promote trade, investment and tourism activities.  This step marks another milestone of enhancing relations and cooperation between Tanzania and West Africa region.
