On the 9th May 2023, Tanzania High Commission in collaboration with Voice of Nigeria inaugurated Kiswahili teaching program for members of staff of Voice of Nigeria (VON). The training is aimed at equipping participants with basic Kiswahili knowledge, in line with the existing MOU between Voice of Nigeria and Tanzania Broadcasting Cooperation. Tanzania Wins Right to Host African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) Secretariat Headquarters

Dr. Pindi Chana, Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports On Thursday, 4th May, 2023, Tanzania was unanimously elected to host the African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) Secretariat Headquarters. This voting exercise was conducted by Ministers responsible for sports in AUSC Region 4 member states. The well-attended event held in the northern part of Tanzania was presided over by the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Peter Ogwang who doubles as Ugandan Sports Minister. Earlier on, Her Excellency Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan asked Ministers present at the African Union Sports Council of Region IV (AUSC Region 4) meeting to grant Tanzania an opportunity to host the organisation’s Secretariat Headquarters. In her request, President Samia said that the East African Member state was a suitable home for various international organizations and institutions.

Tanzania President Expands Economy from $69.7billion to $85.42billion in less than 3 years!

Tanzania to overtake as East Africa's largest economy in 10 years! Tanzania's economy, now stands at $85.42 billion (Sh200 trillion) and is projected to grow into a $136 billion economy by 2028, according to the IMF. Comparatively, Tanzania has a more diverse economy and is seen as less risky relative to a single commodity economy of the current largest in the sub-region.   The United Republic of Tanzania under the leadership of Her Excellency, Dr.  Samia Suluhu Hassan has implemented policies that have transformed the country's economy, resulting in impressive GDP growth from $69.7 billion in 2021 to $85.42 billion in 2023. Tanzanian Delegation at the First Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance (APA)

Today, 3rd May, 2023, H. E. Dr. Benson Bana, High Commissioner of the United Republic of Tanzania with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Togo, was honored to represent Hon. Dr. Stergomena Lawrence Tax (MP), Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, at the First Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance (APA) in Lomé, Togo. The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the participating countries discussed: (i) Africa’s current political and diplomatic challenges in the international scene; (ii) Contemporary issues on Pan-Africanism and African renaissance, and (iii) Challenges of peace and security in Africa with a view to strengthening cooperation and building endogenous capacities to respond to threats, particularly terrorism. The opening session of the conference was graced by H.E. Mrs. Victoire Tomegah-Dogbe, Prime Minister of the Republic of Togo. Tanzania Swiftly and Successfully Evacuates its Nationals from War-torn Republic of Sudan

On 27th April, 2023, the United Republic of Tanzania swiftly and successfully evacuated its nationals from war-torn Republic of Sudan, the evacuated Tanzanians arrived in Dar es Salaam aboard the national flag carrier,  Air Tanzania Company Limited.   Since mid April, 2023, Sudan has been besieged by bitter confrontation between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces, Sudan's paramilitary.

The deadly Marburg virus in Kagera region, Northwest Tanzania has been officially contained

On 29th April, 2023, Hon. Ummy Ally Mwalimu (MP), Health Minister of the United Republic of Tanzania declared that the outbreak of the deadly Marburg virus in Kagera region, Northwest part of Tanzania has been officially contained. However, authorities will continue to maintain active surveillance for 42 more days before declaring an end to the outbreak. Tanzania is safe for tourists!
