Tanzania Strengthens Strategic Investment Partnership with Dangote Group

As part of Tanzania's Strategic Investment Drive, a high-level Government delegation  led by Hon Kitila Mkumbo (MP) Minister for Investment and Planning undertook a visit to Lagos, Nigeria, from 5–7 August 2026. A key engagement was a meeting with Dangote Group leadership, led by Alhaji Aliko Dangote, reaffirming the shared commitment to strengthen Tanzania–Nigeria economic cooperation. Discussions focused on expanding investment across strategic sectors, advancing industrial development, and identifying new opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships. This engagement reflects Tanzania's commitment to fostering a conducive investment environment while building strong partnerships that drive sustainable development, regional prosperity, and shared economic success.

Tanzania Participates in the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC)

  The meeting is held in Dakar, Senegalese Capital, from 29th and 30th of November 2021. FOCAC is the cooperation mechanism between Africa and China founded at the turn of the century, for delivering measurable, tangible and practical outcomes. The theme of the 8th ministerial conference “Deepen China-Africa partnership and promote sustainable development to build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era” to certainly build on the phenomenal outcomes of the immediate two summits of the heads of state and government that held in Johannesburg, South Africa (2015) and Beijing, China (2018), respectively. The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, in talks with the Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA), Dr. Tony Elumelu, at the State House in Dar es Salaam on 17th November, 2021. Among other things, during the deliberations, Dr. Elumelu commended on the Tanzania investment environment which makes UBA evidence the growth and prosperity.

Dr. Benson Alfred Bana and Mrs Queen Babafemi Aina His Excellency Dr. Benson Alfred Bana meets a prospective investor who is looking to establish a reusable sanitary pads and diapers company in the United Republic of Tanzania. Mrs Queen Obafemi Aina, CEO of Tarian Eco-Products Limited was at the High Commission to introduce her product and discuss the possibility of establishing a branch of her eco-friendly product company in Tanzania.  The products is expected to address the problem of girls truancy associated with the challenges of monthly menstrual hygiene, the company is currently working with the Nigeria Ministry of Humanitarian and NGO in Nigeria to reach the girls and women in Internally Displaced Persons camps and rural areas.   H. E. Dr. Benson Alfred Bana meets Prof Solomon O. Akinboye on the 15th October, 2021, on a fact finding mission on the feasibility of introducing Kiswahili Language as a an academic course in the University of Lagos.  Prof Akinboye is the Dean of Postgraduate studies at the University of Lagos and knows the United Republic of Tanzania, he has interacted with the University of Dar es Salaam in different capacities in the past.  H.     Amb. Isaac Moses and His Excellency Dr Benson Alfred Bana His Excellency Dr Benson Alfred Bana on 15th October, 2021 met with Amb. Isaac Moses and Amb. Nneka Isaac Moses of Goge Africa. To carry forward the discussion on collaborating to drive forward Tanzania tourism. Goge seeks to be linked up with appropriate authorities in Tanzania for destination promotion partnership.  This is a second physical meeting with the Goge team. This follow up meeting was proceeded by a meeting which held on 19th October, 2020 at the premises of Goge Africa.

Dr. Benson Alfred Bana presents a plaque to Mr Segun Agbaje, Group CEO of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, in honour of the company for investing in the United Republic of Tanzania by establishing Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Tanzania and for the companies commitment to continue to do business in the East African region, particularly in Tanzania. Currently, GTB Tanzania employs about 53 Staff, and only 2 of these are Nigerians others are Tanzanian's. The bank has constructed its own premises in Dar es Salaam and looks forward to expanding its operations in the near future. Apart from Tanzania the bank has presence in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
